Volunteer Positions
There are lots of ways to volunteer with the PumpHouse, see our volunteer positions described below:
- Model Railway Volunteer: Operate, interpret, maintain, and improve the model electric railway layouts located in the museum Train Room.
- Research Volunteer: Research topics related to the PumpHouse as directed by a Curator.

Applying To Volunteer
Once we learn that you are interested in volunteering and staff have had a chance to speak with you about your potential role, we will give you an application package, which must be completed and returned for volunteer consideration.
Once your completed volunteer application package is recieved it will be reviewed by the appropriate staff member who will then contact you to let you know if your application has been approved. After approval your volunteer registration/sign-on will take place. This process will include:
- Police Background Check (CPIC) - Provided your CPIC is clear and your application to volunteer is successful we will reimburse you the cost for this check. Please note, we require that all CIPC's include vulnerable sector screening.
- Review and sign-off of volunteer handbook
- Training as necessary
